How to get tosakin goldfish

very expensive ill be srtting up a 20 gallon for him soon. so its ready by the time i get it in a couple of weeks. If im paying that much for a goldfish i need to make sure its perfect.

tosakins are very beautiful fish but have delicate finnage. A lot of breeders keep these fish in bowls so as not to damage them and to view them from above. you will need to make sure the filter isnt too strong as well.
good luck with him and will look forward to seeing a pic.

thanks black angel i will consider that by maybe adding a floating leaves or bush to stop the water from making a current

a lot of the people in bettas make "current killers" for their tanks. i'm sure if you do a search over there, you could find several threads on how to make one.

It's pretty simple to kill current off a HOB filter. Just goto Walmart, buy a sheet of plastic grid ($.26 per sheet, in the crafts isle), and silicon it onto the filter so most of the water flow passes through just before hitting the tank. The holes (1mm x 1mm i think) will break up any current into more of a shower than stream. Also stuff a foam filterpad into the water reservoir to make water output less than the input so the filter backflows.

i disagree with this.

the rest sounds good but i'd not reduce the filter flow because goldies are really messy. making your filter backflow sounds like a good case of finrot for a really expensive fish.

Wow those are expensive (and beautiful) goldfish! And you trust them to ship it over? :p I'd be terrified...
