How To Get Rid Of Scum On Overflow?

I just bought a used 120g tank! wOO hOO!!!! way excited.. anywho, it has alot of crap on the overflow that has probably been there for years. i tried scrubbing with boiling hot water, didn't do anything. is there a way to get these clean again?

Vinegar will get rid of anything calcium based, if you can soak it.
