buy 3 golden apples and 2-3 algae eaters per 10 gallons , and your algae problem will become food :D

2-3 algae eaters per 10g will convert all that algae to massive amounts of poop, that will make your tank look nastier than the algae initially did. The best way to control algae is monitor your lights (and how long they are on) and clean your glass as routine tanke maintanance.

yes but the poo doesnt matter because you should be doing routine water changes so u just clean up the poo then

the best way is to find the source of the algae in the first place. As Dieses Madchen states, the way not to do it is to add to the bioload of a tank.

Exactly. I have 1 BN in a 40g tank and I do not have an algae problem. I do not have a algae eater or snails in my 75g tank, and there is no algae. Also, most algae eaters get rather big. What about someone that has an algae problem in a 10g tank? 99% of plecs get too big for a tank that size.

there are more algae eaters than just plecos! what about loaches? what about flying foxes? what about gurra ruffas? what about corys????????

Algae eaters aren't as effective as BN catfish, BNs actually rasp at the surfaces if you look at the feeding action of both fish it's quite different.

My tank has only had green algae since my BN was killed. Bought 2 more to keep it under control!
