My 46 Gallon tank has a TON of pest snails. It is also home to 3 yoyo laoches.

The yoyo loaches eat the pest snails, but only on occasion, and not regularly enough to help with controlling them.

I've tried severely underfeeding the tank, but the snails still take over.

I purchased 3 assassin snails to help with the problem, and they werent even in the tank 20 minutes, and one of my yoyo loaches gobbled one up.

Is there a way to discourage the yoyo's from eating my assassin snails and encourage them to eat my pest snails?

No, there isn't. Mine do a good job and I don't have any pest snails anymore. But they also tried their hands on a huge apple snail and were successful...

I guess you have to choose: either use the assassins or use the yoyos. I am afraid there is no way both can live in the same tank.

Oh well.... was worth a shot. Hopefully my two remaining assassin snails are a little better at being stealthy.

Thanks.
