Right, im going out today to buy a new tank for my koi and goldfish fry, (a 4ft probably) and i need to know how to cycle it like with in a few days...

Ps - My 6 gallon is going to be come home to some bettas :D.

take some of the filter media and half of the substrate
in the new tank and their will be no need for a cycle as the cycle has aleady happened in the old tank. :D

I have no substrate in there... but i do have lots of plants and algae (green)... would that work?

Also i havnt had a filter running in the 6 gal, but one has been in the tank... so it is coverd in stuff would that do?

Use some of the ornaments if you have any.
The filter, if it's not been running will have no live
bacteria in the media so, no it wouldn't do.

as for the plants they will help, but only to a certain degree
I think you may go through a mini cycle

I was lucky when filling up the 6 gallon, because my gramp came over with a few gallons of pond water, so that helped i would have thought. Also how would you go about filling up the 4ft tank? as if i use declorinated water, thats alot of declorinator i would have to use, as the tanks about 30 Gallons.
