What is the best way to clean artificial plants? I'm redoing a 10USG, and need to get rid of the algea and other stuff on the plants.

thanks, Tommy

Toothbrush. Not only dose it do a good job of getting rid of plaque but it also gets rid of that disturbing and disgusting algea of your plastic plants. Wow.. a multi-tasking-technological-breakthrough. :hyper:

Just don't put it in your mouth afterwards

i just let is soak in extremy buring hot water, then with a sponge i go at it. the sponge covers a wide area much easier :)

wouldnt just the brush itself do? try not to use anything that shouldnt be added into the tank

okay thanks all, I'll try the hot water and brush first, see how that goes.

Sometimes it helps to let them dry out and then shake them. The algae will come off in flakes. Of course you still have to wash them but it does a lot of the work for you, espeically with more broad leafed ones.
