Sorry, I meant I fitted a new & seperate tap for my fish. Its on a pipeline out of the way of everything.

I've been using a python for years. I still have the original hoses too. What everyone else is saying is true. The temperature change would end up to be within what fish can tolerate. You can add the dechlorinator first or while it is filling. I personally add it first.
