I just don't know where else to put this topic!
I have 3 platys and 1 dwarf Gourami. (he isn't really aggressive at all)
I discovered that platys are prolific breeders (now why didn't they tell me that at the pet store?!?! :shout: ) but I would only really want to keep a few fry if/when they do have babies. There is a castle ornament in the pet store which would be perfect for only fry to hide in. The problem is, I don't know how to put the ornament in... Do I just rinse it and put it in???
Thanks.

i suggest to scoop out some of your aquarium water out into a bucket and rinse your ornament in that.
Make sure you DO NOT use any chemicals, aquarium water will be just fine.
After you are done, tip the water you used down the drain. You dont want to contaminate your water
Hope this helps!

Thanks. That really helps.
Chemicals are my biggest problem. Seperate buckets and towels for my fish. They seem to be doing all right.

One other thing, if your tank is very full and you're putting a large ornamant in, make sure to take a little of the water out to account for displacement. Not that I've ever soaked myself and the carpet before. because I for got to do this ...
