I have some newborn molly fry that were born this past Thursday. I immediately moved them into a separated basket that floats in my aquarium.
On Sunday, I set up an 8 gallon tank separately from my main aquarium with the intention of using it for the fry so i dont need to cram them all into the small basket. I took old filter media from another tank and squeezed it into the 8 gallon to jumpstart the bacteria, and this morning I did a water test and everything looks normal.

How long should I wait to move the fry to the 8 gallon tank?

maybe around a month or so when they would be hard for adult fish to swallow.
If you have bigger, non molly fish, make sure those won't eat the fry either

Maybe I wasnt clear sorry. The 8 gallon has no fish whatsoever in it. I want to make it a fry only tank. I’m just asking when its safe to move them aka it wont be too much stress that might kill them
