Is it just me or do you do a head count of your fish daily?

Obviously i dont do one on my platy/guppy fry tank,i'd be there all day

I wouldn't like to have one of my fishes disappear without me knowing.

When I had a community with an assortment of fish in a 29, I would count them atleast 3-4 times a day. I do figure it's weird but, I don't want to find a dead fish rotting in the tank, and end up killing my stock. I'm gonna get another comunity going soon but, I just need to wait after winter or, if my Papa decides to get a 55 for the back room instead of one of my 29s. Currenty, one 29 has a pair of HRP's and a Bichir. The other one has a 9" Pleco, three 5" plecos, a 4" pleco, two 1.5" Albino BN, an Otto, a Albino Giant Danio, a rosy red that decided that the Bichir will never catch it

Edit: And a CN Betta to add to that list.

I check evry time I feed. They are all out at that time so I can see them easily.

I check randomly. If I come up short I don't get too worried unless I'm missing a fish I really liked. My tanks are all heavily planted, there are lots of places to hide. I just watch their health daily, mainly when I feed. If a fish does die I usually don't get to it first. In my 55gal the caecilians will eat it, I only keep small fish in my other tanks and a large population of shrimp.

I check every time I look at my tanks and that like 4 or more times a day. I do a lot of fish watching. If I'm looking at the tank I like to check up on them all.

I check daily that the tanks look 'right' I'm pretty used to how the fish behave and where they hang out so only do a head count if something looks wrong or if I've got new fish.

(at the moment I count the obscura every time I look at the tank as they can hide so well it's scary.)

i feed my fish every two days so its the time i really check on each fish for any change.

every day, usually more than once too

i cant keep track of ALL guppies, but usually notice when some are missing

i deffo count corys, harlequins, neons and plecs!

Well considering 2 of my tanks have only 1 fish in them and the other has only 4 larger ones, I don't count.

I check daily at feeding. Not too hard because one tank only has 2 fish and the other has 12. Pretty easy to find them.

I have 8 tanks and I count mine daily too with the exception of the fry tank else I would be there all day trying to count them, but I have a good check for any bodies just in case.

My husband thinks I am bonkers. Most of my fish have names too!

So is it just me that doesnt count them?

No minx, i don't often check mine unless i do the major monthly clean out, i very rarely add any new fish and im comfortable in the knowledge that all my fish are healthy, so really for me there isn't any need. You get to know instantly if something doesn't look right in your tank after a while :)

yep, everyday @ feeding time! but i've only got 15 so it's not too much trouble! :look:
