Ok my tank with my goldfish holds 44 litres of water... If that makes sense? -_-

Its about 10 gallons. You will need to change his water often, a goldfish in a tank any smaller than 20 gallons produces enough waste to require weekly or more water changes. Have you got a gravel vac? I'd reccomend you do. Use the instructions on there to take out about.... 30% of the water. Get rid of the old water, but before you do that rinse out the filter media in the old tank water. Then fill up the bucket to where you had the old water up to, dechlorinate it. If you have algae scrub the inside of the tank down with an algae pad. Put the new water in.

Ignore the advice, my brain went pffft ant I thouhg it said how do I clean out my goldfish..... :X

Thanks... And im glad you told me how to clean it too.. cause that was my next question ha ha ha... so do you take the whole of the water out, ive actually got 2 goldfish in the tank! Or do i take out half the water and half fresh ??? ooohhhh im confused!

syphon off one third of the water and top it up with fresh but dechlorinated water
make sure if you have an internal filter it doesnt drop below the water line as there water cooled and itl burn out,im guessing your tank is about 18x12 id get an undergravel filter as these are much easyer to keep clean ,you just stick the syphon hose down one of the pipes and suck out all the derbis from below add to this a small sponge filter to polish the water off and your sorted ,and before anyone else says it lol your tanks too small to house 2 fish ie 20 gallons for the first fish then 10 gallons per fish thereafter

what size water lol i tried measuring it but it kept falling off the ruler

undergravel filters arent very good filtration wise for goldies. they need a strong filter that turns the water over 10 times in each hour and ugf just dont do it.
just my two cents though ;)

So your trying to tell me i need a bigger tank yeah??
Sorry didnt word that bit right with the water thing what i meant is.... Do i leave in half the water, when cleaning... and put the rest fresh.... and the black angel is telling me not to use a filter for cleaning.... ok sooo confused  lol...

If you can get a bigget tank it would be a wise move. In my experience bigger tanks are easier to keep clean than smaller ones and the goldfish will appreciate the extra swimming space

I would do this:

1) Get 2 identical buckets

2) The night before cleaning fill one bucket with clean water and leave

3) On cleaning day add drops of Aquasafe to the water as appropriate

4) Turn off the filter (and lights - if you have them)

5) Use a gravel vac to fill the 2nd bucket full of water from the tank. The gravel vac will get lots of poo out of the gravel, you will see it floating up.

6) Wash the filter sponge in the water you have just removed

7) Clean the tank walls of algae

8) Use a jug to pour the clean water into the tank. It will fill up to the previous level

9) Turn on the filter and lights

10) Put buckets away

11) Repeat 1 -10 every week

Unfortunately my tank is smaller than yours (cruel I know but I bought it before joining this site), but following this pattern has kept my fish going for 3 years.

undergravel filter is a type of filter to clean the water. it doesnt aid in water changes and is less effective than normal cannister filters. do you have any form of filtration on/in your tank?
with two goldfish in that size tank you should be aiming for 2, 50% water changes each week, and using a gravel vac to get the gravel clean. In fact, i would suggest getting rid of the gravel altogether and this will make cleaning easier.
