Does anybody know how much it costs to have a female rabbit spayed? Im in the Uk btw...

Going back some years but it was about £30.00 same as a cat i think, could be £50.00 now just phone the vets and ask.

Just a word of advice - make sure the vet doing the spay is actually well known for regularly performing surgeries in rabbits. Rabbits require a special form of anesthesia, and are an exponentially higher surgical risk than a dog or cat. Many vets offering "cheap" spay and nueter for rabbits are cutting costs by using anesthetics that were not designed with rabbits in mind, only increasing the allready substantial risk.

I read somewhere that female rabbits are prone to ovarian cancer later in life if they are not spayyed when thet are young, so i got worried. I'll speak to my vet wwhen i take her to get vaccinated... Thanks.

The cost can and will vary greatly from practice to practive and which part of the country you are in. Just ring a bunch of locsl vets and find out what it is in your area. And while you're at it, check how much they charge for a teeth trim - something you migth have to deal with on a regular basis with some rabbits.

One thing worth vaccinating against is Myxymatosis. A nasty disease in the summer months when there are a lot of mosquitoes about.

Yea i know about the teeth and the vaccinations but thanks anyway. I took her to get vaccinated today and she turned out to be a he! So no chances of ovarian cancer anyway!
