how much would you sell Malyasian Trumpet Snails for ?

no sorry

why do you want to buy some ? :hyper:

Free - they breed faster than rabbits. You start off with one and before you know it, you're infested :grr:

free also. If you pay for them, then you're making a mistake really, most people want to be rid of them.

cheapest on ebay are 17p each and 99p postage for as many as u like :p
But you can also pay £2,000 for a well wrapped brick if you don't know what you are doing.
These snails may be ok in certain situations - specifically if you use air driven UG filters - but they can & do block impellors. They are a worse pest than many other snail species.

But you can also pay £2,000 for a well wrapped brick if you don't know what you are doing.

ouch, i smell an ebayphobe :D ive never been ripped off on ebay, and if i was, i doubt the scam artist would bother to pay postage on a brick :hey:

It's been said elsewhere, but it's worth saying again, snails multiply only if there is excess food for them in the tank. They need food just like everything else, and if there is nothing for them to eat, they won't breed.

A population explosion of snails is a sign you are grossly overfeeding your tank and/or not removing uneaten food or dead plant leaves.

Malayan livebearing snails are a blessing in a tank with a sandy substrate and never do any harm. They don't touch live plants, and aerate the substrate very effectively.

Cheers,

Neale

Not really, my feedback is over 700, but the brick is to get a tracking number with a courier so the seller can prove they sent a package. I report quite a few scam austions - there was a state of the art apple system with all the toys being sold from Greece last week, usual email before bidding & hidden invite to buy off ebay, and people fall for these scams -I just report them & get the auctions closed.

wow sounds nasty, well like i said ive been lucky enough never to come accross a scam (feedback around 100). i can vouch for those 17p MTS tho, ive had a few off that guy before and they arrived quickly and well packaged (and alive) :)

I got mine for free. Started with around a dozen, now have maybe a dozen dozen (144) of them. They don't do anything but crawl around in the sand and eat leftovers. Though they do occasionally use my gold apple as free transportation around the tank and hitch a ride on his shell.

free, Ian wanted a couple for his tank so when we were fishy shopping this weekend they gave him a few for nowt......... we had spent about £50 between us in there tho so a few snails was worth it for them I'm sure!

Neale, you're absolutely right. But the majority of people (here) seem to overfeed (in my opinion). For me, more than 5 MTS is an infestation and I freak out ! I absolutely loathe, hate, detest the slimey little B*&gers.
