How much was that fish?

Both gorgeous- especially the first one.

But $400 for a fish that will live 2-3 years?!

How bout no. That's just insane. I remember seeing the bidding on the first one at like 200, and that was crazy enough. I hope those people breed the heck out of those boys to get even a quarter of their money's worth.

True, it's a crazy sky high price. But if a person can get similar fry out of that bad boy :hey:  He's worth his weight in gold :hyper: But still....I don't think I could fork over that much.....ever.

 Insane. Although, I was offered $500US for Sammy and Jub Jub.....

Sammy and Jub jub you say... :shifty: *Cough picture*

Wow, but at the same time, wow at my empty wallet.

The only good thing about fish costing that much, is it helps me sell my fish cheaper than that.. :p

Personally I don't see a problem with someone spending money on something they like ........ But yes I do hope they have a GREAT breeding program set-up and the PERFECT female for them

Beautiful half-moon (500$)

Same colored female (1,500$)

Spawning bowfront with hood (100$)

Realising your fish were actually dyed ........ PRICELESS

that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a fish! Im sorry, but that is way to much, and if u really wanted a fish for $400 wouldnt betta macrostoma be a better choice?

It was a lovely fish though.

Ugh! How terribly rediculous! I'd rather buy a whole bunch of cheaper bettas from you betta breeders here than to even think of bidding on one of those

As Willy said, I hope he's got a perfect female lined up for him, otherwise all those genes are going right downt he toilet. Also, who knows if he would even breed true, they may have just been oddballs out of the spawn. If I'm going to pay that much for a fish, I certainly want to see how the rest of the spawn turned out, what the parents, grandparents and GG parent's looked like. I wouldn't worry about blown tail, as they are still breedable, and nobody is going to spend that much money on at "pet", they are certainly planning on breeding.
