How Much Substrate?

I have just ordered a Juwel Rio 240l tank. Will be looking to get some black tahitan moon sand for it, how much will i need. I tried to work it out for myself with my current tank and ended up with way too much

All small fish, will be tetras, galaxy rasboras, forktail rainbowfish etc

Aslong as its around 2 cms away from your filter any depth is alright

i have that exact same tank u are getting and just set it up i used 20kg of coral sand that worked out for 50.00 euro for me hope this helps =]

I have a Fluval Venzia 190 corner tank and 25 KG and 5kg of JBL Aquabasis provided a depth of about 2 inches all over. That gives you a guide of what you might need. Maybe a bit more than what I used.

i have a 240L tank also, looks nothing like the above posted pic, unless its been stretched to 5 foot+ !!

i think i put 30kg in mine, for a 2 and a bit inch covering.

i got the 25kg bags of silica sand at £20 a pop. eek!

Thanks guys, i have ordered 60lbs of sand, so about 27kg

Looks like i may need a bit more but i will wait and see when it all arrives
