How Much Sand

Hi everyone,

Well i was busy setting up my tank on Sun/Mon. I bought aquatic sand from Pets at home 24kg in fact. However when rinsing it, it took ages and started to p*ss me off. At the moment there is only 8kg of sand in my tank. It looks a little thin.

What do you think i should do? Add another bag or half?

Id add more, may take time but its worth it in the end looking good, like the colour of the sand! How much did that cost then?

Hi there i recently set up my new vision 180 i brought two 15kg bags from argos but only used a bag and a quarter it shoud only be about 1 too 1 and a half inchs deep! hope that helps

Its always good to have extra sand ready on hand...I always end up sucking quite alot up when I am cleaning my tank out!!

Argos is the cheapest I have seen...15kg bag for £2.50 odd. Bargain!

wow I paid £11.99 for 8kg. gutted now.

Well i'm not going to sort out the sand now - will wait until the weekend to rinse it. found it easier rinsing a little bit at a time.

Will take more pics soon with my digital camera and not my mobile.

I have 12.5kg Unpic River Sand in my Lido 120. Gives me at least an inch + more.

Looks pretty good, but I'd recommend you add a little more sand to it.

In my 30, I have about 4" of sand, it looks really good, and the fish love it!
