how many lbs do i need to fill a 120 gallon tank with sand about 2-3 inches ? and one can tell me i appreciate it

i used just under 3 bags on a 75 gallon so i would say 4 maybe 4 1/2 should do ya

play sand is usually about 50, So just grab 5 bags of it if your not sure. At 4 dollars a bag you can't really go wrong to have some extra on your hands.

50 lbs you can toss the extra or save it to freshen the tank up here and there
