well i think i seriously have to consider selling my rio 240 +stand, its in ex condition,t5 lights, tetratec 1200,complete with lots of wood ,plants etc and several rainbow fish, loads of extras to go with it including 3 large pieces of mopani one of which is prob a bit big for a 4ft tank, and several bits and pieces,i`v looked on ebay but the prices there going for are really varying,i wonderered if anyone on here has any idea what they would sell it for, thanks in advance

I would probably pay £150 to £200 for it. I paid £100 for my AquaOne AR980 with stand and hood filter and standard heater. That's 5 months ago, on eBay. I have to say it was a bargain though!

hmm, i`m going to have to have a good think about this,a friend suggested i give the fish away to a good home, then simply empty tank and wash gravel, filter etc and store it somewhere safe,as he said in 12 months time my health may have improved and i may want to start it up again, thanksfor replying

Im planning on selling my Rio 180 for £150 - £200 without decor, so your 240 probably £200 - £250.. these are just the going rates, new tanks depreciate massively once used, but second hand tank don't really depreciate as there is always a base price for a decent aquarium, cabinet, lights and filtration.

EDIT: Also depends on location and who is willing to pay tbh

welll if i sell,it will be with all decor, lots of live plants and also an external heater, but to be honest i1ll prob just store it for 12 months and see how ifeel then

all together... just under 200 quids. if you r lucky.

sell them separately.. u would make, well over 300 pounds.

I'd say closer to £150-200. I spent a lot of time looking for my latest tank (a 4ft Rena Aqualife) which is 370L (50% bigger than the Rio 240, and IMO a much better looking tank) and the going rate for the Rena was £250.
