How Much Do You Pay?

Hey all,

I've been long planning a new fish tank and I had been considering trying a Discus setup. However, I recently did an information gathering mission and visited a few LFS just to look at some prices. I was shocked to find that the going price for Discus was about $60-$70 (40-45 GBP) each!

I really had no idea and I wanted to check with more experienced folks here.

Sounds normal for LFS discus. They are not cheap fish and very sensitive. Hobbiest bred ones tend to be a little cheaper, but good show quality discus go for a LOT more.

Where do you live?

I pay anywhere from $20-$200 CND per Discus through LFS where I live.

Averaging at $30-40 for 3-4 inch and 50-70 for any bigger.

I've been [aying £20-25 at my LFS and thety are decent discus as well
