I'm from a suburb of the great city of Detroit. You know - the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Motown Records, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the only U.S. city that looks south to Canada, Lafayette Coney Island (my favorite), home of the North American International Auto Show, the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, the International Jazz Festival, murder capital of the world, the honorable mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
