I currently have the following in my 100L tank (2 years old)

8 Male guppies
5 Male platys
1 albino corydora
3 glowlight tetras
3 gold neon tetras
1 black neon tetra

how many more fish/ inches of fish could i get away with on a 10% water change a week?

thanks for any responses i get.

Increase your tetras to 6 and corys to 6, consider, exchanging the black neon.

8 guppies
5 platys
6 cories
6 glowlight
6 neons

Hi ,well i`ve got 2 dwarf gourami,7 bronze corries ,2 albino corries ,2 pitbull plecos,6 green fire tetra ,8 glowlight tetra, and shrimp,in my 110l,hope this helps

Im not really considering an increase on the tetras or cory unfortunatly, they have been past surprise "presents" from either mum or dad when ive been at work etc. they dont listen to what i want ! how many guppies & platys could i increase by comfortably?

Then you should find them a better home, because it is not fair on the fish, for them to be kept alone. Consider trading them in for some fish you do like.

As for new fish, the number depends on your filtration, decor, the tank dimensions and the species you are considering.

KK is right, take them back then, they are schooling species and like to be kept in groups, hence my suggestion. Take them back and tell us which other fish you like and maybe we can advise

I have had these for a long time, nearly 2 years now, i rang pets at home and they wont take in unwanted fish, and theres noone to give them to as i live in the countryside !
I prefer guppies & platys for their colouring and activity levels, you can see them in the tank much more easily and catch your eye more than the tetras.
how many more would you advise as the limit?

I cant really guess at dimensions but its a tall B shaped aquarium, open topped, and holds 100L

The Cory & Tetras woudl be more active if they had a proper shoal
+1, also, have you tried advertising them on here, Aquarist Classifieds and asking your local club?

That depends on all the other factors I asked for:

can you maybe get out a ruler and measure it? Or at least tell whether is it long or tall?

So advertise them for free on gumtree/preloved/freecycle/aquarist classified.

I did this when I had some platies and tetras I didn't want anymore and someone contacted me the next day and travelled about 40 miles to collect them as well.

I'd do the same, increase the neons and corys or exchange them. You could even ebay them for collection!

Neons are one of my favorites, in a large shoal they are defintately active and eyecatching (although i have cardinal tetras, kind of a bigger version of them)

You mention you have two Corys, but only one in your signature.

Either way, please find them a new home if your not able to give them the friends they need.
