How Many Filters?

I have the 2213 running along side a 2217 and I cannot hear either. My air stone pump is louder than the filters together.

As aquascaper said and in my eyes eheim are well worth their weight in gold.

I've had my 2213 for almost 4.5 years and its never let me down.

My advice will be if you do get a 2213 make sure you get the double taps as they are a blessing when cleaning your filter.

Are the taps so you can disconnect the unit to clean it, then simply reconnect itband open the taps?

What media do you use? How often to you replace it?

Thanks

Yea it makes your life so much easier it takes the whole of 10 mins max with the taps but I don't have them on my 2217 and it takes an average 30 mins because I have to some how entry the filter enough so I can remove the hoses with out it leaking everywhere.

I've still got 80% of the original media that it come with had to replace some as was breaking up.

And the whole media kit you can pick up for around £30 I think don't quote me.

And it will come with all the media you will need

Sponges ceramics ect.

I'm currently being naughty in my 2217 as I'm using some of my old gravel as I'm skint at the mo but I still have sponges ect in there just not the ceramics. So as soon as I change it over in space of couple months the filter will be running a lot better.

I say it coming from a classic eheim owner you won't be dissapointed I'm even adding another 2217 because I like and trust them that much

So when it comes to changing the filter, what should be done?

I can vouch for the 2217, when I hooked it up I had to feel the filter to make sure it was running

Got the Eheim 2213 setup, it came with the double taps.

The guy at the fish shop said change the carbon every 4 weeks, where's cheapest to buy it?

Ok, i might remove it at the next maintenance.

Are there any guides on how to maintain these filters?
