How Many Do You Have?

I only have 1 at the moment.
At the most I had 6 at one time.
But unfortunatly a disease spread and all but one (who was in a different tank) died :(
So yeah... it's VERY difficult to not buy every one that I see whenever we go to Petsmart, VERY hard, but I told myself that I was only going to focus on 1 at a time.
Bettas are definitely "addictive".

I don't expect sympathy helps much, but all too many of us understand.
Of course, while the individual betta can never be replaced, the only real cure is lots more bettas to keep you busy and your mind off the grief.

Spishkey, you're doomed!

I only have 6 bettas - so far...
And even if I ever catch up with modaz, devon_charm and similar others, I evidently still won't have enough...

The problem is once you get past owning 1.........

I had Flash for a few months.... then decided to buy another tank and get a cool CT........... That's when you really start to see how different each individual betta is. ... and of course at that point you are over the "i love THIS ONE betta so much" phase. Had three.... convinced my gf to get 2 for her place..... it never ends. Although after an unfortunate tank divider mishap, I'm down to just 1 betta at my house. I'm holding strong lol. It can be done :p

I STARTED with bettas and moved to more expensive fish/setups though Spishkey.... so you are not getting into dangerous territory unless you become a betta nutcase :p

I have four....started with just males, then got a few females to try to breed, then got a few more females to try a female tank. The males passed away as well as half the females....some were newbie mishaps, most were old bettas. I have the three females I've had for about 2 years now and just recently got a male for the first time in a year. I too started with bettas and then got into community tanks etc, but I still love the bettas :)

I started out with one male VT a few years ago. His tank was out in the living room. He passed away after I had him for 3 years because someone was visiting my roommate and started feeding him. He fed my poor betta so much that it burst his little tummy. :( I went without bettas for about 2 years, then I saw Rahziel, a male CT. Then I saw Darla and had just the two bettas for a few months. This past week, I got 2 more females... I plan on getting 2 more and attempting a sorority tank. If I had the space and the money.... who knows how many I'd have.
