How Many Bristlenose Do You Own !commons Or

I've got one BN called 'Nibbler' (named after the character in Futurama)

Here's Nibbler as a tiddler a couple of months ago:

...and here's Nibbler as a slightly-bigger-tiddler:

Great pics, I have two BN's. Both were bought about the same size. I think the bigger one's a female as there's only a little bit of stubble on the nose. The other one has stayed pretty small. And unlike your fish there they're both pretty timid, only coming out at night normally.

Quick question:

How old / big to BNs have to be before the males start growing their 'moustashes'?

(My fella is about 3 inches long, incl. tail.)

:D

I've got 4. Two adults who keep spawning. Fortunately (for me, anyway), I have tetras who like munching little babies. I have two survivors from the spawnings, a 6 1/2 month old who I'm hoping is a male so I can call him Chuck Norris, and a new little baby who I think is about a month old (maybe a little younger. I've only just recently realized he's another "survivor" and not likely to die at this point).

can u set up another tank just for the bristlenose or no m8 that way u cld keep the fry and sell them on or no m8 assie dog

I have a 20gal betta sorority that I'm going to move one or the other into. Depends on if "Chuck Norris" is a male or female. If he's male, I'll move Mrs Lovett (mom) into the 20gal, but if he's female, I'll move Sir Burton. Don't wanna move Mrs Lovett and find a new batch of babies from a pairing between Sir Burton and his daughter, and at the same time, I don't want to move someone, discover I should have moved someone else, and have to uproot everyone and have them get used to a new tank (or the old tank) again.

I haven't yet asked around, but I doubt any of the fish places here will take the babies for me. It's just a Petland and Petsmart, and I've heard it said quite often that the bigger chain places don't usually take your fish for you. It's just less hassle to separate the little bunnies.

Fortunately I don't have to deal with massive numbers of babies. The first batch was only 7 babies, or something around there, and I've yet to count more than that in other batches.
