How Many Bettas In A 10 Gallon Tank?

I am thinking about getting tank dividers and putting bettas in there, should I let the filter run?

Most people have 2, and have the filter in the middle...
If you used a low current filkter, you could have 3..

I've got a couple divided into three with three males in each and no filter. I've also got one divided into four with four girls with no filter. I, personally, feel that the boys need more space, so I won't divide mine into any less than three for them, but the females are just fine divided into four. I do 50% water changes on the tanks once a week, sometimes a little more, so the filter really isn't needed.

I have three CTs in a divided tank with the filter, but it has adjustable current, and they're CTs, and according to some recent threads, the current may be actually helping them.

I have three CT males in a divided 10G with filter and heater. I have the intake on one side and the output in the middle and the filter is stuffed with filter floss to slow the flow.
