I have these angles that are tending to 3 day old fry. Only about 50 I think. These are the best Parent fish I have ever had. I took some fry out when I was cleaning the tank and when I put the fry back in they scooped them all up and put them in the nest.

They guard these fry very well. But I do have Cory cats in the tank with them and they are naughty brave fish.

It's a 36gal with some cover not that much
11corys
5 small tetras
1bn pleco

any one think some will make it? I'm going to be in France for 10 days so I can't raise this batch. When I get back I'm going to set up my 20 gal for the angles only to raise some fry in. Try my hand at breeding again I need some more practice.

I think I might come home to more eggs and no fry.

All is matter of what the parents do. If they protect them and have someone to feed them, then yes, alot will but if parents eat them them none.

No they are awesome with the fry and are such a good team. I hope some make it but once they are free swimming the others might get them. It will be interesting. I lowered the flow moved the filter so it's not blowing them around I added a sponge to the intake so fry don't get sucked up easy. So we will see.

You have got to be kidding!!!!!

Nope I got fry. BUT most of the eggs turned white and got the fungus But I just left the mess to see what would happen. Sure enough the rest of them hatched despite the fungus around them. I was pretty shocked.

These guy are not messing around they wanted a family. :) I will be raising some next month. I will see how they do fending off the tank mates. I'm thinking I will set up the 20Gal for them and let them raise the fry in peace. I will keep you posted.

sorry to say this if the
adults are about to spawn
again i would say if you don't
remove the fry they will be eaten

I never had much luck with angels, they would spawn and I would get wrigglers but as soon as they were 2-3 days old they would abandon them to the rest of the tank.

I'm guessing around 10 assuming the parents are great defenders, with those cory and BN in there I think the numbers will dwindle, as well as loosing some from natural causes but fingers crossed some will survive!

The bn is not a problem but the Cory cats are naughty. We will see. Thanks.

Well all fry are gone the tank is very dirty. But the parents have a bunch of new eggs that look great. I think only a day old. So I'm setting up the 20 gal tonight and moving eggs and parents over.

So now my question is would it best to keep parents withthe eggs or just more the eggs?

There is a chance the parents would eat the eggs once they have been moved, this time I would just move the eggs.

Thats a shame but good luck with the new 'uns

Yup they eat the eggs. no big deal looks like they are getting ready to spawn again. I want the parents to raise the eggs keep them clean and look after them. Its more fun that way. I think in the long run its better for the fry too. So we will see i know they will spawn again and will just become better parents with time.
