How long to quartine for?

Hi,
As you guys probably know Ive been splitting tanks specifically my 2.5 gallons into 2 compartments. The bettas that Ive put in the two tanks Ive split Ive had them for awhile so I know they dont have any diseases.
I aquired another 2.5 gallon tank and Ive put 1 of my boys (Panda) in there. Ive only had him a week so I havent put anyone else in there with him. My other boy that I would like to put in there is Bug. I only got Bug on Friday so 3 days. I was told he might have pop eye but I dont know how to tell if he has pop eye or if his eyes are just naturally big hense the name Bug....
I have other bettas that Ive had for a while but they have there own problems (one I brought back to life - he was a rescue and the other one his fins have misteriously started to be tattered and theres nothing in his tank to cause this...) There are others but there not right for a split tank...
So ya, how long should I wait to put Bug in with Panda? Also would you guys recamend putting a betta in with another betta ( a split tank) that has fin rot? I just got him to...

I would quarentine for at least a couple of weeks. I think they say a month to be sure.

Um, I wouldn't put a fish with fin rot with another one, even split. I think you should treat the boy for a couple weeks at least.

As for the randomly torn fins, does he have plastic plants or silk. I have a silk plant that has a little tiny spot with sharp plastic on it and my bettas fins were shredded by it.

The one with the torn fins (Calico) had real plants in his tank - water sprite to be exact.

I typically quarentine for 2 weeks. I have had ich develop at the end of the 2 week period.

Hmm, Ive also had ick developed in the second week. I think I will quartine for 2 weeks and if everythings ok than maybe there quarantine will be over. Maybe I will fo 3 weeks to be sure.
