How Long Have You Been Fishkeeping

For about 3 years as a child, and then again for a year now. Do I regret anything? Yes- the wasted years in between  As for the cost- I agree that you have to have a certain financial margin; it gets upsetting when you see someone spending their last penny on expensive fish and then not having the money to cope with the running costs. But it is possible to accept that you can only have a basic tank and modestly expensive fish; it's no worse than accepting financial limits in other areas of life. Fish are still great fun!

about a year.its strange fishkeeping never appealed to me at all until i got a 3ft tank off a friend instead of a debt. i was gonna sell it but i filled it up  now a year later i have 4 tanks and some great fish :) the money is well spent in my books

My Father had fish tanks and ponds before I was even thought of and I was around 4years when I was given my own tank and a pair of cichlids and my children were raised with tanks and Hubby had to learn fast in the beginning how to do things :D so I have had my own tanks now for 35years....I only regret it when I see a fish I want and can't have...I get fish for Valentines presents, Mothers day prestents, Birthdays, Anniversaries and Christmas.....so I make sure I ask for the exspensive ones then..... :D

2 years or so in college - and now 5 months. I agree with that other person - the internet makes such a difference! It's amazing all my fish didn't die when I was in college! Well, now that I think about it - they did all eventually die within 2-3 years - I just thought that was normal fish lifespan.

Anyway, I don't regret it, setting up my third tank soon - a 55 gallon. So far, I've only spent about $450 or so (since October)

i've had fish since i was little except my mom did the whole tank. it was a 55gal one with a nice oak cabinet and light cover. now on my own, i've been doing it for 3 months and upgraded to a 30 gal from a 10 gal. and i don't regret it, i looooove having it. looking at it is just great and taking care of it gives me something to do! :)

i started when i was 4 years old with gold fish but when i was 12 i started tropical and still going in now 15 years old
