How Long For A New Filter Press?

I've been running an Emperor 280 filter on my 30 gallon tank and am in the process of switching over to a Fluval C4 to allow me to have more flexibility for media etc.  I've been running them both in tandem for about a week.  How long do I need to continue to do this to ensure that the new filter is sufficiently seeded with bacteria?

It's hard to say as the bacteria won't decide to just up and move to the other filter. Why not move the filter media over?

Mainly because the Emperor has a bio wheel whichever she will not fit inside of the C4.

Hmm, I'm not sure then I think I'd wait a month or so, and then when you do switch, keep a close eye on the water parameters.

you can cut up the cartridge from the emperor to fit in your new filter---try to transfer all the medie--dont worry about the biowheel--you can cut through the plastic on  the cartridge or just snap it where you want to cut it
