How Long Can You Keep Lr In A Bucket?

I'm going to buy 40lb LR and 20lb of live sand off a guy for $100. My tank is not all hooked up and running yet. So how long can the rock and sand live in a bucket without too much dying off?

keep it heated and it should be fine for quite a while

Keep it heated and well circulated. If it contains any corals it will also need lighting.

ive just kept mine in a water butt for about two weeks. I have kept it heated with a few big powerheads. I did chuck a little bit of food in every now and again too

ditto to the "keeping it heated and aerated" idea the others suggested
but since it's a new tank
a little die off isn't a bad thing
the the parts the died off will start the cycle
and the live rock and sand will always recover under good water conditions

when LFS's get live rock it comes in w/o any water so
and i assume it's a 24 hr trip for the live rock so
yeah
should be fine
