How Long Can A Male And 1 Female Dwarf Gourami Live Together?

I bought a male and a female gourami, i know i have to have more than 1 female. My LFS don't have any females atm, it will take 2 weeks. Will it be ok till then??

What size tank are they in? As long as each of them have a good amount of space they will be fine :)

Its 45 gallons 4 foot, since they've arrived, ive only seen the female once and the male is everywhere. Also the female's not as colourful, is it going to stay like that??

Plenty of room then mate. Yes, with most fish the male is always the more colourful fish to simply show dominance and attract a mate. The female may colour up a little more as she settles and if they are fed a well varied/ good quality diet and kept in good water condition's you will give her the best chance to be at her best (as well as the male) :good:
