The tank in question has poor access, it's far too narrow for a landing net and far too deep for a standard aquarium net, it has ocean rock that needs removing and cleaned, the heaviest rock weighs around 7KG, the tank is 3 foot deep and set in a wall. Any tips on how to remove these rocks safely would be much appreciated. Cheers.

the same way they got in there?
Thank you Mikey but please stop thinking so hard before you have a aneurysm. The tank isn't my own so I don't know how they were originally lowered, I imagine they were dropped onto the substrate from a low height, my abilities don't include 'the force'.

why can't you just grab them?

3 feet is not that far to reach down....am i missing something?

It IS that far, buddy; measure your arm! Even a two foot deep tank can be very difficult to reach the bottom of properly, especially if the tank is high up, unless you actually like draping yourself over the edge of the tank with your legs in the air!

OP; could you perhaps get a cloth or piece of tarpaulin and roll the rocks onto it with a long stick, or something?

The tank set up sounds like a nightmare to do any proper maintenance on; I do wish people would think these things through
