I was just wondering because gold and copper bettas are some of my favorite colors. How would one distinguish it from a bacterial infection or other parasites?

You should still be able to see it with a flashlight. Do you have one in question or is this a preventative?

Preventative. ^^ I have a brown female that looks to have some metallic gold on her. And when I get a better setup, I plan on getting me an expensive pair of gold or copper breeders. :3
