Hi, I was wondering how fast (or slow) do cories grow, assuming they are in an established and well maintened tank, and are well fed etc.

To be more specific, I wanted to ask for bronze and sterbai cories.

I've had both species for about 4 months now and they don't seem to have grown much. They are currently about 1" (excluding tail), what will their max sizes be? I've seen a bronze cory that is about 3", but looks massive due to its height and girth.

Seeing as cories live for about 5 years on average, I was keen to find out how long it takes them to reach maturity.

I have had my 4 Bronze Cories for over a year and they have grown a good bit. They were quite small when I first got them. On the other hand, I have a batch of fry that are the same size as the parents now and only 10 months or so old.

I have had one bronze cory for about 2 1/2 years and it has not grown much at all. It is around 1 1/2 and has been for most of its life. However, right now it is a loner cory in a 10 gallon tank, so this may just be a product of his enviroment.

I have had four of my Cories for a year now (this month in fact) and they seem to be growing, albeit slowly. I would say they have doubled in size at most...maybe slightly under. They were quite small to begin with though, and I was thinking that it did seem very slow, but they appear to be happy and healthy so I'm not worried :good:

Our two bronze corys have grown noticeably since we got them - we've had them about 4 months. They were about 3cm plus tail and quite thin when we got them, and now I've just measured one at about 4.5cm plus tail. They're also...um... well-fed... perhaps I overfeed, but my water quality is good and I do lots of vacs and WCs.

Females are supposed to get bigger than males. From their shape, I suspect both of ours are females. I've just looked them up in my book, and it says they can get to 7cm.

Cories grow faster with lots of water changes and a variety of foods.
