How Fast Do Snails Grow?

This morning I found a super super tiny snail in my tank. Around 2 millimeters. I was doing work on my computer and when I next looked, it was larger! Almost twice the size as when I first saw it! I highly doubt it's a different snail because I found the larger one where I last saw the smaller one. Could it be it had grown so quickly?! Eeks!
