thanks for that. well at the moment i have been looking at refractormeter.

but would like one that is recommended if you know of any.

cheap preferably. so best to go with all new media and cycle again. that sounds good as when i was thinking about setting the tank up thought it maybe hard not to be able to turn the filter off for a while as im moving rooms too. so would be better and easier for me to start a fresh.

i am also considering this as the tank i got now was originally designed for marine (so this is a great help) and ive got everything apart from salt,fish and live rock but im finding it hard to let go of some of my tropical stock so i dont no what to do yet

well im in exactly the same boat then.

the only thing i was planning on was getting the salt, sand, and ocean rock and instead of the live rock route to just use my external, i have about 60 fishes and decor which i will need to remove so hopefully i can get a bit of money for my stock which should help for the conversion.

slowly but surely i will remove the ocean rock and replace with live rock as time goes on.

let me know how it goes on.

I bought my refractometer off ebay for $35 shipped. Came from Hong Kong. Took it to my lfs and the main fish guy said it was good.

my big 825l in my sig mate i'll be changing, ive also been offered a 8.3ft x 3ft x 2ft with a 3 x 3 x 2 x sump and box steel stand for £100 but i'll really stuggle to fit it anywhere i was thinking that marine but ive also got to convince my girlfriend to let me have it ive tried its my birthday on wed can i have it lol amongst other things lol

dammmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats big... but that will cost a hell of a alot in salt for the water changes..

although if uve got the money will be well worth it.. thats huge.

yeh will think il ebay the refractometer.

realistically will be about a month or 2 before i get all the fish out and the basics set up.

good luck with the convincing the gf part. if all else fails just put her in there.. now that would be a cool tank.
