I have been rehoming some of my stock because I was getting a little carried away with my Cichlid obsession.

I want to add some more Rainbows or maybe some more Bristlenose...Tank looks really empty now (Mainly as my fish need to grow alot), what else could be good tank mates?

my stock now is...(100g 4ftx26"x21")

3 x Severum (Gold Male,Red Spotted female,Rotkeil...I think female)
1 x Festivum (female)
2 x Blue Acara (pair)
1 x Geophagus Brasliensis (Red Bahia male) (people say these fish are very very aggressive but hes not far off full size and no problem at all...hes currently 6" and they average at 9")
3 x Boesmans Rainbows
3 x Red Rainbows
3 x Clown Loach
1 x Bristlenose Plec

My mate offered me a load of Dalmation Mollys and Blue Platys he has a excess of....how would they fit in? ( I know they are hard water fish...I keep the tank Neutral)

I think your definately maxed out on cichlids for sure.

As you already have one BN, I dont see a problem with adding another.

Maybe a couple more rainbows if you want to, either add to the boese or reds or you could try some Lacustris (turquoise) they are beautiful.

Personally wouldnt add the molly's or platies but thats because I dont really like them.

Yeh Im not a fan of livebearers...Just taking them because they are free :p

What is those Rainbows which are blue with the red line going through them?

Deffo nomore cichlids.

aslong as you have good filteration it sounds fine

Running 2 external filters and 2x 20% water changes a week w/Gravel Hoover everytime...quite a mature tank,been running for a few years :)

I'm not sure about that, but another bristle nose and maybe a few more rainbow fish might be okay. I though that you were going to rehome some of your fish. Like your firemouth and I think you might had said something about one of your severums. I'm not sure though. Most of your cichlids are very placid. What happened to your female krib?

I did rehome some Angels,Female Krib,Threadfin Acara,2 x Firemouth,Green Severum,2 x Convcits,Rainbow Cichlid all in the last 2 months :p

I had 4 Severums at one point and had 3 of my step fatehrs juvis in there...so had 7 at one point! lol

Rehomed the green,Stepfather took on his 3 and kept the Adult gold,Rotkeil and Red Spotted.

Alot of people say Brasiliensis are proper terrors and that my Angels wouldnt last with him long term so i rehomed them.

Trifasciata (banded) rainbows?

Gonna look them up on google ;0

Oh yeh I rehomed my Gibbiceps Plec and Trispot Gourami to!

WOW! You rehomed all of those?! Wow, I hope you still have your gold severum, because that was one of your most prettiest fish, and the Pearl Eartheater. That is a lot of fish rehomed, it is like a totally new tank, wow.

Not all at the same time lol!

I suffer from OCD...and I love Cichlids so end up impulse buying alot(plus i have a lot of friends in the trade who end up giving me fish or selling them to me dirt cheap)....if it dont work out i trade them back in and get other stuff.

Ie: when the Convicts didnt work I got more Severums, when the Firemouths didnt work I got 2 x Blue Acaras etc.

I think thats a key to getting a peaceful cichlid community....trying out different fish,Surprisingly I found my Rainbow cichlid to aggressive with everything and they have a reputation of being a colourful alternative to a keyhole!...lol

Yeh I still have my big gold :) and my pearl/Brasiliensis I love them :)
