I have a food clip (it is one safe for aquarium use) but I'd rather use something else b/c it's HUGE and has lost its suction. Also the part where it clips the food prevents the fish from getting to it and.. yeah it's just not a very good item to use.
Anyone suggest something else that could be used to weigh down veggies?

I have used just an ordinary stainless steel tea spoon, i snapped the head off which you dont need to do. just skewer it through sed veggie and it will sink straight to the bottom

I use the shiny coated lead weights like used on plants without ANY problems for years. :good:

There's a cool little thing you can buy online called a "screwcumber."

Check them out on eBay:

Yay TY for pointing out the screwcumber item. I remember seeing something like that before but had no idea what it was.
Just bought some from ebay. Can't wait to get them!

No problem, they're great little things to have! :D

Only problem with them is, you get 2..
and if u have a friend that also keeps fish you'll notice 1 of them disappear

lol i just put mine on the end of a fork and drop it in

Same here, I used to use forks when I had my BN plecos. No need to 'fork' out more money (drumroll please :X  :D ) on a gimmick like a screwcumber when you can use a fork

i got fed up of *why is there a fork/spoon in your tank* now i have screwcumber, ideal if you have 2 tanks as you do get 2 as stated :good:

If you chop it up small it all sinks to the bottom anyway!
