I got my male bnose catfish when he was barely an inch long....with an entire tank FULL of algae....he managed to clean every bit of it within 2 days....a true champion (now I say to the cat "its about time you earnt your keep young lady like Dyson does and hes only a fish!!!")...

I now have 2 bnoses....the male, Dyson, who is now 3 inches long and a female (Electra) who is 4 inches long. They keep all the tank pretty much algae free...BUT...there is one place neither of them go...and thats the glass side of the tank closest to the kitchen.....WEIRD....neither of them EVER clean that glass so for that I use an algae magnet.....I figured it must taste bad or something :p

I found that it was the type of light I had (not sure what it is, it came with a complete set-up) growing this horrible long hairy stuff on my plants and glass.

My other tank which as a SunGlow or something like that only grows the brown stuff which my Plec eats. This tank is almost spotless! I'm very proud of my Plec!
