How Do You Stop Tannins Leaching In To Your Waters?

just got some mopani bogwood, soaked it for 48 hours and its still leaching tannins into my aquarium making the water a brown colour, can i stop it? how o i stop itt??

You will need to soak it for a couple of weeks, or boil it for several hours should help. Either that or just keep doing water changes and it will eventually stop. The tanins aren't bad though so it's not really a problem.

My new bogwood has been in a bucket out in the garden and every couple of days I replace the water...this is how I am doing it...

I soaked my bogwood for about 3 weeks in to stop it in the end. now its fine. have heard it can take months.
