How Do You Sex And Breed Common Plecos

I was wondering if anyone knew how to sex and breed common plecos. How long does it take a female to produce young?Are they livebearers?

they are egg layers (as are all plecs)

They dont breed in aquariums though. they dig holes in muddy river banks and spawn in the 'cave'

sexing is also dificuly until they are fully grown 12" +

Yep these can only be captive bred in massive breeding ponds in the US (and somewhere else overseas I cant remember *lol*). Impossible to breed in even the biggest of aquariums.
