If I said Bet-Uh, no one locally would understand me. At all. Plus, it's habit to say Bay-Tuh, so it's kind of stuck.

As I said, I've always pronounced it bet-ta but it really depends on the person. It might have something to do with having an Australian accent but bay-ta sounds odd to me.

I just say it like the word 'better'. As in: Bettas are Better.
