How do you know when your snail is dead? I recently got a snail for each of my Betta tanks, one of them is very active and everywhere. The other hasn't moved since I put it in! Is it dead?

try to take him out
if he sticks to a surface and you feel resistance when you pull hes not
lay him on his side in a little clear cup and stare at him for 30 mins, without touching him. DONT BLINK! if he hasnt moved in that time, then hes dead.

He hasn't come out of his shell at all... He's just sitting on the bottom of the tank.

What kind of snail is it? I put a little round snail in my betta's tank and a few days later it was empty. I guess my betta had a snail snack.

It's a "teardrop" snail. Looks like the snail is still in the shell, just not moving.
