How Do You Know What Goes Where ?

how do you know if you should put your corals on top of the tank,middle,bottom,lots of light,not much light,good water flow,little water flow not sure what to do??? in the sand ? on live rock???

please help !!!

It's part of the Reading/research thing. I highly recommend that you buy ( or get from the library) Borneman's book on Aquarium Corals. SH

What I do if I get a new coral or am looking at a coral is:

-look on liveaqauria....see what they say.
-ask the manager at the LFS
-look at other peoples tanks that are similiar to myn to see where they place them.

trial and error also works, put the coral in one place you think would be suitable and if doesnt look healthy, move it accordingly.

also buying a good reef book would help.
