Looking around this site there are tons of stunning tanks and you never seee any pipes or anything, so how do yyou hide them? is it just tall plants of what? My tank im cycling right now is pretty open so i don know how to hide the filter pipes, ait tubes, heater etc. ?
thank you :good:

oh and i also have a great big spoonge filter im trying to hide a bit

plants or bits of wood usually.

However, be wary of tank pictures where there seems absoloutely no way there could be a filter/heater in there.....chances are the owner has removed them to make the tank look better for the photo.

I hide sponge filters behind drift wood and I attach mosses to air line tubing. My filter intake/output isn't as much of an eyesore as my heater but I'm still waiting for my plants to grow up a bit, then I won't see it anymore.

You can get inline heaters which attach to the pipes of an external filter so that may explain no heater. However, as Zod says - photographers do sometimes take the hardware out so that the tank looks pristine for the picture. There is often also a big clean before photographing as well so the tank may not look spotless all the time (I know mine doesnt!). Backgrounds are a good way to hide wires etc that drape behind the tank, and they don't have to be explensive - the cheapest method is black bin liners :good:

i dont hide mine :\

i am conisdering inline heaters and an inline CO2 defuser do da though.

moss on the air tubing is a great idea! my plants are quite low and my heaters top has to stay slightly above the water so im not sure if ill be able to hide it

There is often also a big clean before photographing as well

when I first started in this hobby I thought that everyone either spent hours and hours every week on maintenance or that there was simply something wrong with my tank......until I realised this.

We should have a thread for photos of peoples tanks of what they usually look like, before any big clean or tidying up
