How Do You Feed Cooked Peas?

One of my neons is really swollen, so I am going 2 feed a cooked pea 2 see if it is constipation. This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you feed a pea to fish? When I put a whole pea in, it sank & they ignored it.

Once the pea is cooked then remove the shell and crush the pea between your fingers.

Generally I just take a frozen pea, run it under hot water for a few seconds, squeeze the skin off and then throw it in the tank. The fish LOVE it.
