How Do You End The Suffering Fish?

i hate when people want to flush fish. it is a waste of water and is extremely inhumane -__- i gave a baby guppy that i found when i was going to bed (the tank is right next to my bed) and it is not eating and very skinny so i am debating if i want to put it in the baby cray tank

I think any way is hard to do and most people have the best intentions for their fish
But boiling water... I'm no expert on the sensory experiences that fish undergo but I'd rather
Deliver one quick cut to decapitate that is over in a split second than submerse a fish in boiling water.
I mean no offence but I imagine that is quite painful. :/

I agree Lolly - even if it's only for a split second it must be agonising! I guess if I was going to be euthanised I'd just want to go to sleep and not wake up. I wouldn't want a violent death myself and I don't think I could inflict one either.

Exactly, putting to sleep has to be the best way.
When we had our cats done, the first received a lethal injection.  She was awake and looked a bit startled when the needle went in, drew back slightly, then died peacefully in my arms.  I didn't like the way it shocked her, so for the next one we made sure he was asleep first before they administered the lethal dose.

I guess part and parcel of being animal lovers is also going through the loss that you feel when they go. I think someone said in a previous reply about correlating an animals intelligence/feelings/significance by size is wrong, and I agree. Of course I wouldn't chop my dying cats head off, because we have an alternative way that is far superior to that. I don't like doing that to fish, it's horrible and makes you feel incredibly guilty. But I couldn't stand back and watch a weak fish who is dying be punted around the tank by other fish. Next time I might try the clove oil.

I think decapitation is fine, as long as it's quick and clean and the fish isn't flapping about.  Given the choice, I would definitely choose the guillotine myself over being frozen, boiled or suffocated to death!  Oh dear how morbid.

Lol I quite agree. It's quick when done properly. I have never tried the clove oil before.

put it in the cat bowel
THAT IS DISGUISTING WTF
I wonder if you administer it to the bowel rectally??

Haha.

Freezing ice method has worked for me but clove oil seems nicer. Mostly I am too chicken and QT them until they die naturally.
