No, the only way to eat them is to dismantle them first. Then mop up the bits of cream and chunks of pastry off the plate.
 
Eat it? Trying saying it here. It's called a "mille feuille' in my part of the planet. I have never heard "cream slice" before, and checked the thread to see what it was.

They are easy to eat. Apply pressure to the top and rapidly work the fork around the edges. Repeat, and eat.

Or, like me, remember you come from a family cursed by genetic diabetes, and give it to your friend. Watch them stuff the food into their mouths whole, then use the fork rapidly around their mouths. Then open a pastry shop bag of chocolate eclairs and go through the same crisis.
