How Do You Catch

If I need fish caught I usually do it when the tank is dark. Sleepy fish don't avoid the net all that well. If I'm just moving the fish to another tank I will do it then. If I need the fish caught tomorrow morning, I do it the night before and leave them in a mesh/plastic breeder box for the night. At least that way they are already caught in the morning. You can put quite a few fish in there, especially since they will just be sleeping most of the time. I haven't had issues putting 2-3 dozen endlers in one plastic breeder box. by the time they wake up I'm ready to move them into bags.

Good Idea.

My fish dont care when i put the net in..

my mollie ACTULY goes into the net!

she is one amazing Fish :)

Shame i may be taking her away tomorrow :/

OR maybe not :D

^my fish are more retarded, mine think the gravel vac is some sort of amusment ride and if i lift too high one always swims up. they like me too much

Ahaha; I had to catch 10 neons in my 10-gallon tank; I was seriously swearing and shouting and actually trying to kill them because they were so fast. XD

Also, my scaredy platies; I had to take all the ornaments out of the tank, and.... Yeah.

Funny thing is, though, that my female Bettas actually try to *SWIM* into the net. Haha.

the worst thing that happend was 2 weeks ago i was trying to catch this one day old fry the only one left, this thing was every where in a 20 min standoff he got sucked up by the filter   leaving this 10 gallon community tank in aw

I'm hopeless at catching fish, took me hour & a half to catch 6 tetras a few weeks back, my fish hate the nets i'm sure, yet they love the syphon hose when it goes in though??
especially in the livebearer fry tank,no much how much i try to avoid the fry they always seem to go for a ride into the bucket, yet if i wanna catch them thats a different matter...

I had so much trouble trying to catch my 8 xray tetras a while back
now what I do is put the net in at the front then put my hand in and chase the fish into the net with my hand :good:

I'm not sure what it is with the rummy nosed tetras around here. They don't have any issues catching them at the store. I quaratine them for two weeks. When I go to move them, the meer sight of the net sends them into shock . I don't even try to catch them anymore. Just put the net in and wiggle it around. 5min later they will all be lying on the gravel hyperventilating. Pick them up gently with the net, move them to bag and usually run a airstone in the bag to bring them back around. I've never lost one to this, but they can spaz and go into shock quite easily.

i tryed catching my rosy barb that was so hard to catch, i did it at like midnight and i caught him easily, now i know what to do

sorry i didnt read all that.. catch it with a turkey baster and squirt it to wherever it needs to be?
