How do you all deal with the filter flow

I just got some dividers I ordered. They are Penn Plax and have tiny holes in them and are supposed to allow water to flow through but it isn't. I have the tank divided in 4 sections to house my 4 bettas and adf. The filter sits on the right hand side of the tank so the first 2 divided parts get filtered pretty well but the last 2 get no flow at all.

I'm worried cause all the waste and such isn't getting sucked up. I have a gravel vac but I just wish I could figure out an easier way that I could get a nice flow in the last 2.

Any suggestions? :dunno:

get 2 smaller filters... one at each end...or put the one you have in one of the middle sections (which is supposed to be done neways :p)

This is the way I do my divided 10 gal tanks.

f250fisherman those are the exact dividers I have. What kind of filteration is that? I've never seen anything like that before.

Those look similar to the Hydro Sponge filters, are they?

Also, are those dividers solid? Not see through, right?

Wow, that looks like a nice, clean, and simple tank setup. Your bettas like that (no gravel or plants)?

Thanks for your time.

Those are the Hydro filters. They are a little bigger than the normal sponge filters, and they move a lot of water through the filter. I like them way better than a normal sponge filter. I like the weighted base, and nothing gets under the filter like the regular sponge filters.
When you have a couple hundred juvies/adult bettas, the cleaning is a real chore. A daily chore. Having a bare bottom tank makes siphoning and cleaning so much easier. My community tanks that cycle are the only tanks I use gravel in. They are meant to be pretty, while my fishroom tanks are set up to be practical. There is no gravel for the food or waste to get mixed in, so feeding and cleaning is easier. Even my 55 gal growout has no gravel. The dividers have small holes in them. If you don't have current in the tank, a light film covers the water. The current keeps it nice and clean.
